| REGISTRATION
& FEES |
Entry fee is $85 per angler or $295 per boat (4
anglers) if received prior to May 30th, 2009. Entries received after May
30th, 2009 will be $95 per angler or $345 per boat (4 anglers). There is a
minimum of 2 paid anglers per boat and a maximum of four Junior/PeeWee
anglers per boat. The “Bucket of Bucks” Boat Tournament is an additional
$100 per boat. Only anglers/boats registered in
the angler tournament are eligible to enter the “Bucket of Bucks” Boat
Tournament. Deadline for registration is conclusion of the Kickoff Party,
8 PM June 18th, 2009. Entry fees are non-refundable. |
| CAPTAIN'S
MEETING |
There will be a Captain's meeting on Thursday,
June 18th, 2009 at 8 PM at the Mutineer Restaurant on US 1 and Palm Drive
in Homestead. The Kickoff party will be from 6-8 PM. A representative from
each boat is recommended to attend as knowledge of all rules and any
changes in the rules made at the captain's meeting are each angler's
responsibility. |
| RULES |
IGFA rules and regulations will apply throughout
the Tournament. No hand lines or electric reels may be used. Only
registered anglers may touch a rod once a fish is hooked or engaged. Any
protest concerning conduct or rules violations must be filed in writing
with the Tournament Committee prior to close of weigh in. All decisions
made by the Tournament Committee on rules questions are final. A Junior
Angler is defined as someone who has not reached their 16th birthday at
the end of tournament registration. A PeeWee angler is defined as someone
who has not reached their 10th birthday at the end of tournament
registration. |
| ELIGIBLE
FISH |
Prizes will be awarded for dolphin (Coryphaena
Hippurus) unless otherwise indicated. Prize for the biggest edible fish
will be for the single heaviest fish caught of the following species:
snapper, kingfish, wahoo or grouper. |
| SCORING |
Only fish weighed in the presence of the
registered angler who caught it will be eligible for prizes. Scoring will
be derived from each angler's heaviest one dolphin for angler prizes and
three dolphin for “Bucket of bucks”. For angler prizes, the heaviest
single dolphin or heaviest single edible fish shall determine the winner.
For the “Bucket of Bucks”
Boat Tournament the aggregate of three dolphin per boat will determine the
winner. In the case of a tie in any prize category the earliest
weigh in time shall determine the winner. All fish to be weighed must be
weighed at the dock at Homestead Bayfront Park dock. |

TOURNAMENT HOURS |
Lines in the water at 7 AM on Saturday June 20,
2009. Weigh-in will begin at 1PM on
Saturday June 20, 2009. Weigh-in will close at 4 PM on Saturday June 20,
2009. All anglers must be acknowledged by a Weigh-in Committee member
prior to 4 PM in order to have a fish weighed. Any angler/boat which is
not past the East End of the fuel dock at Homestead Bayfront Park and
acknowledged by a Weigh-in Committee member will not be eligible to
weigh-in a fish. |

KIDS FIRST |
All Junior and PeeWee anglers will be given one
“Kids First” entry ticket at registration. One ticket will be drawn at the
awards ceremony and the winning Junior or PeeWee will receive a $100 gift
certificate and the boat that they fished on will receive $500. |
| COMMUNICATIONS |
All participating boats should be equipped with
a VHF radio. The Tournament and Weigh-in Committee will be monitoring
channel 78. |
| LICENSE &
LIMITS |
All registered anglers (except Juniors & PeeWees)
must posses a valid Florida Saltwater Fishing License. Florida Law limits
each angler to 10 dolphin per day. Releases are encouraged by the
tournament. |
| INSPECTION
& MARKING |
The Weigh-in Committee has the right to inspect
and mark all fish presented for weigh-in. Inspection may be done by any
means necessary. All decisions made by the Weigh-in Committee as to the
eligibility of a fish for weigh-in are final. |
| POLYGRAPH |
Any angler who weighs-in a fish is subject to a
polygraph test. All anglers must make themselves available for polygraph
after they weigh in their fish until the time of the awards ceremony. |
| WEATHER |
All boats, anglers, crews and guests will fish
at their own discretion and at their own risk. If bad weather results in
canceling the Tournament, the non-refundable entry fee will be applied to
next year's tournament or when the tournament is rescheduled. |
| RELEASE OF
LIABILITY |
All participants in the Tournament enter at
their own risk. The Kiwanis Club of Homestead/South Dade, sponsors and
affiliated personnel are not responsible for the conduct, personal injury,
damage or loss suffered by any participant. It is hereby understood and
agreed that each participant in the tournament consents to the use of his
or her photograph by the Homestead/South Dade Kiwanis Club for
promotional, advertising or other purposes. |
| AWARDS
CEREMONY |
All prizes and trophies will be awarded at
Homestead Bayfront Park, June 20th, 2009 at 4:30 PM. |
