The 24th Annual Kiwanis Dolphin Days Tournament is here. This money
doesn’t just go to a lucky few; there are various ways to win in this
challenging and fun tournament and as always, kid’s fish for free!
Kids…step right up! Kiwanis’s main focus is children and we want kids
fishing our tournament! Not only do kids fish for free, but the “Kids
First” award -sponsored by First National Bank of South Florida gets
every junior and peewee angler an entry into a drawing. The winning
junior or peewee angler gets a $100 gift certificate and the boat they
fished on will receive $500.
Please thank and
support the Dolphin Days sponsors, as they underwrite the majority of
the costs involved with the tournament. Their support allows 100%
of your entry fees to fund Kiwanis community service projects, the
majority of which promote education, sportsmanship, leadership and civic
responsibility in the youth of South Dade.
Ed Glenn, longtime
Kiwanian and Dolphin Days chair, continues to need our assistance after
suffering a stroke. We ask the community to please help out Ed and his
family in return for the years and years of service he gave to the South
Dade community. Please find a donation slip in your angler goody bag. We
thank you in advance for any financial assistance as it helps his family
defray the cost
of his on-going medical care. Love you, Ed.
The Dolphin Days Captain’s
Meeting will be held on June 12th at the Mutineer and the
tournament will be June 14th at Homestead Bayfront Park. The
deadline for Early Bird discounted registration is May 30th.
Best of luck to everyone in this year’s tournament!
